We must be a bit crazy here. Anytime DD outgrows a toy or is given something she doesn't really enjoy, we place it in our giving box. Twice a year we take our box (or giant pick-up load of bigger toddler toys) to the city. First we stop and buy new batteries for everything and then we take the items to the church thrift shop. DD gets so much enjoyment out of sharing her treasures with children who might not be blessed with as much, as well as donating any outgrown clothing. She doesn't seem to place any personal value on a liked toy, but enjoys thinking about how much more fun this great toy will bring to others. She was a bit perplexed at the thought of giving a gifted AG Kirsten away and keeping a fixer up e-bay doll in her place although she quickly decided it was the perfect decision and has so many pleasant thoughts about how much fun the other doll is bringing and loves her Kirsten all the same. I never really thought about saving for future generations. I guess that's where I should start making sure our AG collection will go.
